This is an altar I made for a shaman. The dark wood has a special significance as it was brought back from a journey in Costa Rica. With my design I wanted to showcase this wood and make it the center of the altar. For the rest of the altar I chose maple, to create a contrast between the two parts. I didn't use any stain and for the finish I chose oils, so I can keep the altar as close to natural as possible.
The center of the altar can be easily removed and used separate from the entire piece for portability.
